What Actually Happens in a Colour Analysis Session in Amsterdam?
If you've been thinking about booking a colour analysis but aren't quite sure what you're signing up for, you're not alone. It's one of the most common questions I get. So here is exactly what happens when you come to a Colourbella session in Amsterdam, from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave knowing your season.
Before your session
Once you've booked, you receive a confirmation email from me asking you about where you’d like to have the session: your home or the colourbella home studio as well as instructions on how to prepare and to bring your items. I will also ask you to do the temperament quiz so we can match the colours not just to your appearance but also your personality.
On the day, come with a clean face or very light makeup. Foundation, blush and lipstick can hide how colours actually react with your skin, and that reaction is what we're looking at. If you wear glasses, bring them. If you dye your hair, that's completely fine. We'll talk about how your hair colour fits into your results.
When you arrive
Sessions take place either in your home or the Colourbella home studio in Osdorp, Amsterdam. We start with a relaxed chat about you: what you love wearing, what never seems to work, and what you'd like to get out of the session. Some people come because they want to shop smarter. Others just have a wardrobe full of clothes that somehow don't feel like "them." Whatever brings you, it helps me understand what matters most to you. I will then talk you through the theory and the process.
The colour analysis itself
This is the fun part. Using fabric drapes, I hold different colours close to your face in good light and we watch what happens. The right colours make your skin look clearer, your eyes brighter and your whole face more awake. The wrong ones can make you look tired, washed out or a bit grey.
You'll see the difference yourself, and most people are surprised by how obvious it is once colours are side by side.
Step by step, we narrow it down to one of the four seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter. Each season has its own palette. Knowing yours means you can walk into any shop and quickly see what will work for you.
After I talk you through what the season is all about and how to practically apply it. We review your brought clothing items to see how they match the palette and talk about styling them. We also talk about applying it to hair and make-up, as well as the impact of colour based on colour psychology.
What you take home
At the end of your session, you'll leave with a palette book, a colour card and receive a digital guide in your inbox - so you can use your colours straight away when shopping, getting dressed or choosing makeup.
How long does it take?
A solo session takes about 1.5 hours. If you'd like to come with a friend, partner or family member, a duo session takes about 2 hours, and a trio about 2.5 hours. With 4 people it is 3 hours. Group sessions are lovely, because seeing someone else's transformation helps you understand your own results even better.
How much does it cost?
A solo colour analysis is €185. Coming as a group lowers the price per person: €165 each for a duo, €150 each for a trio and €135 each for a group of four.
Is it worth it?
“I am so keen now to go though my wardrobe and have a clear out soon using the colour chart you've given me as a guide!“
“I am looking at myself and what I knew so differently now, but I simply cannot unsee what worked best!”
