Group Colour Analysis in Amsterdam: Everything You Want to Know Before You Book

Thinking of booking a colour analysis for a birthday, hen party or a day with friends? You probably have questions: what happens, how long it takes, what it costs and what everyone should wear. I've answered the ones I hear most below.

I'm Isabelle, the colour consultant behind Colourbella in Amsterdam. I use the four-season method, and I host groups at my studio in Osdorp or at your home. If you'd rather jump straight to the options, see Colour Parties & Group Sessions.

What is a Colour Party?

A Colour Party is a group colour analysis for 5 to 16 people, run as a social event. One by one, each guest sits in front of the mirror while I drape fabrics to find their colour season, and the rest of the group watches and joins in. Everyone leaves knowing their season, with a palette pocket card and hair and makeup tips. Activities can be arranged around it for larger groups like collaging, getting inspiration and make-up kits as examples.

How much does group colour analysis cost in Amsterdam?

A Colour Party costs €85 per person (incl. VAT) for groups of 5, with a 2-hour minimum, and less per person for bigger groups up to 16.

The Evening Masterclass costs €85 per person for 4 to 8 people, €80 for 9 to 12, €75 for 13 to 16 and €70 for 17 to 20, with a custom quote for 21 or more.

For 2 to 4 people, a full small group analysis costs €165 per person for a duo, €150 for a trio and €135 for a quartet.

What's the difference between a Colour Party, an Evening Masterclass and a small group session?

They suit different groups and moods:

  • Colour Party: quick, lively reveals for 5 to 16 people, with activities for guests between turns. Best for birthdays and hen parties during the day.

  • Evening Masterclass: a relaxed workshop for 4 to 20 people. Everyone sends a photo beforehand, I do the analysis in advance, and on the night we focus on reveals and learning how to wear your colours.

  • Small group session: the full, in-depth analysis for 2 to 4 people. Best if you want the complete experience with a partner or close friends.

How long does a Colour Party take?

At least 2 hours. Each person takes about 15 minutes, so a larger group books a longer party. Small group sessions take 2 hours for a duo, 2.5 hours for a trio and 3 hours for a quartet.

Can we do a colour analysis in the evening?

Yes, with the Evening Masterclass. Colour analysis in person needs natural daylight, which is why the Colour Party and small group sessions take place during the day. For the Masterclass, each guest sends a daylight photo beforehand and I complete their analysis in advance, so the evening itself doesn't depend on daylight. It's a good choice after work and through the winter.

Is colour analysis a good hen party activity?

It's one of the best. Everyone gets a moment in the spotlight, nobody has to be sporty or drink to join in, and the bride gets useful advice before choosing her makeup and accessories. Many groups also book before choosing bridesmaid dresses, so the colours suit the whole party.

Is it a good birthday party idea?

Yes. It works for any age from teenagers up, and it suits mixed groups of friends who don't all share the same interests. The reveals are naturally fun to watch, so the group stays together rather than splitting off.

Can men join?

Of course. Colour analysis works for everyone, and I adapt the tips to each person, whether that's makeup, beard and hair, or simply which shirt colours to buy.

Can children join a Colour Party?

Yes. Adults pay the full rate, and children under 12 pay €30 for their season and a palette card. Hair and makeup tips are for ages 12 and up. It's a lovely way for mums, daughters and grandparents to see who shares their season.

Where does it take place?

At my studio in Osdorp, Amsterdam, or at your home. Outside Amsterdam I charge travel on top: €35 per hour of travel or the train ticket, whichever is cheaper, paid separately on the day via Tikkie. I am happy to travel within Europe too.

What kind of room do we need?

A room with good natural daylight near a window, a mirror, and a table or space for the group. For the Evening Masterclass, any comfortable room with seating works.

What should guests wear?

A plain top in white, grey or beige (not black), with no pattern. Come without makeup or with very little, no heavy eyeliner, and tie your hair back. You're welcome to bring a few favourite clothes for my opinion. I also send a short quiz beforehand, which is fun to compare with the results.

Can we have drinks and snacks?

Yes. When you come to my studio in Osdorp, food and drinks are available, and I always ask about allergies beforehand. I can also arrange food and drinks as part of your booking. For full catering or something special, like champagne and nibbles, it's best to organise it yourselves so you get exactly what you want. Just let me know your plans when you book.

What if someone can't make it?

Plans change, and that's fine. Let me know as early as you can. My rules on cancelling, rescheduling and changing your group size are set out in my terms of service.

Can I give a Colour Party as a gift?

Yes. You can buy a gift voucher on the Gift Cards page of my website. Vouchers are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase.

How do I book?

Send me your date, group size and location through the contact form, and I'll come back to you with availability and a price.
