From "Nothing to Wear" to a Wardrobe That Actually Works
Most people who come to me don't have a clothing problem. They have plenty of clothes. What they don't have is a clear way of deciding what belongs in their wardrobe and what doesn't.
So they buy something new, hoping it will fix the feeling. Sometimes it does, for a week. Then it joins the rest of the pieces that don't quite go with anything.
That's why I work in three steps, in a specific order. Each one answers a question the next one depends on.
Step 1: Understand yourself first
The first step is the Complete Style Assessment, where we build your personal framework. It brings together three things.
Your colours. Through colour analysis, we find your season, your undertone and your palette. I also look at how your natural temperament matches your season, so your colours reflect who you are as well as how you look.
Your body shape. This means looking at your body as it is right now, not as you think it should be. We work out which cuts, silhouettes, fabrics and proportions suit your natural form, with no ideal body standards and no judgement.
Your style personality. We explore your lifestyle, your personality and the things you're drawn to, until we arrive at a style direction that feels like you. It isn't a trend or a box to fit into, just a clear expression of who you are.
Before we meet, you fill in a short questionnaire about your life, your goals and your wardrobe frustrations, so the session is built around you from the start. You leave with outfit formulas you can use straight away.
This step is available in person in the Netherlands or virtually anywhere in the world, and it's open to all genders.
Step 2: Look at what you already own
Once you have your framework, your wardrobe looks completely different. That's when we do the Wardrobe Edit & Outfit Restyle: four hours together, in your own wardrobe.
We go through everything, looking at colour, fit, silhouette and how each piece fits into your actual life. You'll rediscover things you'd forgotten about and build new outfits from pieces you already own. Just as importantly, you'll finally have a clear answer about the pieces you've been holding onto for years.
We also look at quality, longevity and versatility. The goal isn't a bigger wardrobe. It's one that works harder for you and lasts longer.
By the end, you'll know how to look after your wardrobe yourself, and you'll have a clear shopping list for the gaps that are really there.
Step 3: Shop with a plan
This is where most people start. It's also why shopping so often goes wrong.
When you shop with your framework and a gap list, it becomes a completely different experience. There's no aimless browsing, and every piece connects to something you already own. Before a Personal Shopping session, I research pieces that match your gaps, your budget and your brief, so our time together has a clear purpose.
You can shop with me in person in Amsterdam for a half day, or online through a curated lookbook that we go through together on a video call.
Why the order matters
It's tempting to skip straight to shopping or to start with a wardrobe clear-out. But without knowing your colours, shape and style, a clear-out is guesswork and shopping is a gamble. Each step gives the next one its direction.
The Full Colourbella Experience
If you're ready to go all the way, the Full Colourbella Experience brings all three steps together: the Complete Style Assessment, the Wardrobe Edit and a Personal Shopping Half Day. It's spread across two or more sessions within 12 weeks, scheduled around your life.
It's for people who don't want another quick fix. By the end, you don't just have new clothes or a tidier wardrobe. You have a way of making every clothing decision from here on.
