Dutch Brands You Need to Know (And Where to Find Them in Amsterdam)
One of the best things about living in Amsterdam is that some genuinely great fashion brands were born right here and a lot of tourists and expats walk straight past them without realising. So consider this your introduction. These are the Dutch brands worth knowing, whether you're shopping online from your sofa or actually exploring the city on a Saturday afternoon.
No fluff, no brands I haven't actually thought about. Just the ones that are genuinely worth your attention.
Minre
For: Wearable everyday fashion with a Dutch sensibility
Minre has just opened a brand new store on Ferdinand Bolstraat in De Pijp, and if you haven't discovered them yet, now is a very good time. Their range covers everything from blouses and co-ords to knits, gilets and blazers — wearable, trend-aware pieces at accessible prices. This is the kind of brand that quietly fills the gaps in your wardrobe without making a fuss about it. Very Amsterdam in the best possible way.

Mosj Atelier
For: The bag that starts conversations
Founded by former roommates Mayumi and Josje in their Amsterdam attic, Mosj Atelier has become one of those brands you spot everywhere once you know what you're looking at. Their bags: bold stripes, elastic fabric, crossbody styles built for cycling, that are practical in a city where your bag genuinely needs to function. But they're also just really fun. The crochet bag straps are a staple. The Amsterdam bag charm is a very good souvenir that doesn't feel like a souvenir. Now stocked at de Bijenkorf, WOW Concept and Verse Good Store, which tells you everything about how far they've come from the attic.

MAIUM
For: The raincoat you actually want to wear
If there is one Amsterdam-specific purchase that will genuinely change your life, it is a good raincoat. MAIUM makes arguably the best one - a sustainable, stylish waterproof designed specifically for city cycling. The silhouette is relaxed and clean, the colours are considered and season-aware, and crucially it doesn't look like you're wearing emergency weather gear. It looks like an outfit. Dutch weather being what it is, you will wear this approximately nine months of the year and be extremely glad you have it.

Mud Jeans
For: Denim with a conscience
Mud Jeans is a Dutch brand doing something genuinely interesting: a circular denim model where you can lease your jeans, return them, and they get recycled into new ones. It sounds gimmicky until you actually look at the jeans, which are great. Organic cotton, well-cut, available in the kind of colours and washes that work across all four colour seasons. If you've been meaning to invest in more sustainable basics and haven't quite got there yet, this is a good place to start.

Kings of Indigo
For: Premium sustainable denim and beyond
Kings of Indigo started as a denim brand and has grown into something with a much wider range, like tops, jackets, trousers - all with a strong sustainability story and a palette that leans toward earthy, wearable tones. This is a step up in price from Mud Jeans but a step up in finish too. If you're building a wardrobe of fewer, better pieces, Kings of Indigo belongs in that conversation. Very much in the Amsterdam Classic territory if you're someone who identifies with that archetype.

O My Bag
For: The ethical leather bag that goes with everything
O My Bag is an Amsterdam brand making leather bags ethically - every bag comes with a passport telling you exactly who made it and where. The designs are classic and unfussy: totes, crossbodies, backpacks in the kind of warm neutrals and rich tones that work across multiple colour seasons. If you're an Autumn or Winter type looking for a bag that will last years and look better for it, this is worth a serious look.

Scotch & Soda
For: The Dutch brand that already feels like home
Scotch & Soda is probably the most internationally well-known Dutch fashion brand, and for good reason as the quality is genuinely good, the colour palette is interesting season after season, and the pieces have a slightly bohemian, considered quality that sits somewhere between high street and designer. You'll find them everywhere in Amsterdam, but the flagship stores are worth visiting properly rather than just grabbing something online. Their collections tend to have strong options for Spring and Autumn types in particular — warm tones, interesting prints, relaxed tailoring.
Find them:scotch-soda.com / multiple Amsterdam locations including the Jordaan
Harper & Yve
For: Bold, feminine Dutch fashion with personality
Harper & Yve is a Dutch brand made by women, for women and that shows in everything from the cuts to the colour choices. Their collections have a distinctive energy: vibrant, feminine, a little rebellious, never boring. Think bold prints, interesting colour combinations, dresses and blouses that have genuine character without being over the top. The jewellery line is worth knowing too: layered necklaces, statement earrings, the kind of pieces that do a lot of work in an outfit without asking much in return.
Price-wise they sit comfortably between high street and investment - good quality without requiring a deep breath before checkout. If you're a Spring or Autumn type looking for pieces with warmth and personality, or a Summer or Winter type wanting to experiment with bolder prints in your palette, Harper & Yve is worth a proper browse.

A note on shopping these brands with your colour season in mind
All of these brands have something in common: they offer real colour range, which means they're genuinely useful no matter what your season is. But if you're still figuring out which colours actually work for you: why some shades make you look alive and others just make you look tired, that's exactly what a colour analysis is for.
Your season doesn't limit your wardrobe. It just makes every shopping decision easier.
